L'augurio di Franco Porzio per il nuovo anno (ITA-ENG)

Cari amici,
a nome dell'intero Consiglio Direttivo della WATERPOLO PEOPLE porgo a voi tutti sinceri auguri di un buon anno con la speranza che nuovo anno ci regali traguardi sempre più prestigiosi e risultati sempre più brillanti.
Ci auguriamo che nel nuovo anno si possa, in unione di intenti, interagire sempre di più con tutti i soggetti che hanno passione per il nostro sport e con le istituzioni sportive per il rinnovamento della waterpolo.

Ci auguriamo che nel nuovo anno si possa, in unione di intenti, interagire sempre di più con tutti i soggetti che hanno passione per il nostro sport e con le istituzioni sportive per il rinnovamento della waterpolo.
Iniziavo così il mio editoriale, appena 12 mesi fa, per augurare un buon anno a tutti voi, amici della pallanuoto.
Purtroppo, però, da allora poco o nulla è cambiato. La pallanuoto, ahimè, non riesce ad uscire dalla palude in cui è attanagliata.
Promettevo, nello scorso editoriale di capodanno, di fare tutto ciò che fosse nelle mie possibilità per fornire un valido e concreto contributo al nostro movimento. Ci abbiamo provato, io e Gabriele Pomilio. Con grandi sacrifici (in termini economici e di risorse umane) ci siamo adoperati per produrre un PROGETTO DI SVILUPPO che, nel Novembre 2014, ci era stato richiesto dalla FINA e dal suo Direttore Esecutivo Cornel Marculescu. In questi anni di duro lavoro in cui abbiamo interagito con Leghe, Federazioni, Commissioni Tecniche, agenzie multinazionali di comunicazione e marketing, qualificate professionalità del nostro sport e non solo, siamo riusciti a redigere un dettagliato PROGETTO che, a nostro parere, se adottato quale 'format unicum' per la promozione e la diffusione della pallanuoto nei cinque continenti, avrebbe potuto dare qualche risultato importante.
Purtroppo, però, la volontà di Marculescu e della FINA di rinunciare ad intraprendere il PROGETTO ci ha scoraggiato e sconfortato. Per di più l'avercelo comunicato con una semplice mail, seppur complimentandosi per il duro lavoro (durato due anni), è stata un'ulteriore doccia gelata tale da vanificare le nostre speranze di poter contribuire ad un miglioramento della pallanuoto.
Le uniche istituzioni sportive che si sono interessate alla nostra proposta sono state LEN e FIN alle quali esprimiamo il nostro ringraziamento dichiarandoci disponibili, qualora vorranno, per interagire nuovamente.
A proposito di Federnuoto. La notizia dell'archiviazione del procedimento a carico del Presidente Paolo Barelli è un qualcosa che da serenità all'intero movimento. Sono sicuro che da questo momento il Presidente Barelli e tutto il Consiglio Federale potranno dedicarsi ulteriormente al nostro amato sport e certamente sapranno trovare il modo per aiutarlo a crescere qualitativamente, rendendolo appetibile a media e partner commerciali.
Ovviamente un ruolo determinante dovranno averlo i Presidenti di società (ad oggi del tutto assenti quando si è trattato di contribuire al miglioramento del nostro sport) nel fornire spunti di riflessione per la costruzione di un PROGETTO adeguato, nell'ottica di una futura, sana, interazione con i vertici della Federazione Italiana.
Sono tanti i ricordi belli di questo 2016. Sicuramente tra questi annovero il doppio successo di Rio con Setterosa e Settebello che hanno ottenuto rispettivamente l'argento ed il bronzo olimpico.
Ma in particolar modo ciò che mi fa emozionare in assoluto è lo YELLOW BALL WATERPOLO INTERNATIONAL EVENT tenutosi a Napoli lo scorso Giugno. Dalle 26 squadre della prima edizione (2015) siamo passati a ben 60 squadre provenienti dall'Italia e dall'estero. Waterpolo People ha messo in campo un'ottima organizzazione per l'allestimento e la gestione del torneo in ogni suo aspetto. La vicinanza di FINA, LEN e FIN rappresenta, dunque, un premio per quanto svolto in due anni di programmazione. Colgo l'occasione per informarvi che da metà gennaio apriranno le iscrizioni per la terza edizione dello YELLOW BALL in programma dal 25 Giugno all'1 luglio 2017.
Ancora una volta, però, tengo in particolar modo a ringraziare Gabriele Pomilio senza il quale tutto ciò, forse, non sarebbe stato possibile.
Fra le altre cose nell'anno che verrà ricorre il 10mo anniversario del format Haba Waba: un torneo che simboleggia il faro guida per tutte le importanti manifestazioni di pallanuoto giovanile dislocate in Italia e nel mondo. Mi complimento per questo risultato ed porgo i miei auguri all'Associazione Waterpolo Development, al suo Presidente ed ai soci tutti, per aver raggiunto questo importante traguardo.
L'augurio per il 2017 resta quello di sempre. Spero che la pallanuoto possa tornare ai fasti d'un tempo e che possa avere un seguito maggiore in termini di praticanti e di visibilità. Spero che tutti i soggetti coinvolti nel nostro mondo (Federazioni, società, atleti, arbitri) possano serenamente discutere su un PROGETTO da attuare per non restare indietro rispetto ad altri sport che negli ultimi anni hanno avuto un determinante cambio di marcia.
Infine tengo a ringraziare tutti voi, amici della pallanuoto, che costantemente seguite il nostro portale web, nato solo due anni fa, che in poco tempo ha raggiunto numeri incredibili (decine di milioni di accessi e migliaia di visitatori giornalieri), affiancandosi ad altri siti specializzati che danno visibilità al nostro sport, diventando un vero e proprio punto di riferimento per l'informazione sulla pallanuoto italiana e mondiale.
Che il 2017 possa riservarvi tante piacevoli sorprese.

Dear friends,
on behalf of the entire Board of Directors of WATERPOLO PEOPLE I extend to you all sincere wishes for a good year with the hope that the new year brings us increasingly prestigious targets gifts and more and more brilliant results.
We hope that in the new year we can, in unity of purpose, interact more and more with all those who have passion for our sport and with sports institutions for the renewal of water polo.
So I began my column, just 12 months ago, to wish a happy new year to all of you, friends of water polo.
Unfortunately, since then little has changed. Water polo, alas, cannot get out of the swamp in which it is gripped.
I promised, in last New Year's editorial, to do anything that was in my ability to provide effective and concrete contribution to our movement. We tried, Gabriele Pomilio and I. At great expense (in economic and human resources terms) we worked to produce a DEVELOPMENT PROJECT that, in November 2014, we were asked by FINA and its Executive Director Cornel Marculescu. In these years of hard work in which we interacted with Leagues, Federations, Technical Commissions, multinational communication and marketing agencies, qualified experts of our sport and not only that, we were able to draw up a detailed PROJECT which, in our opinion, if adopted as 'unique format' for the promotion and dissemination of water polo in the five continents, could give some important result.
Unfortunately, however, the will of Marculescu and FINA to give up undertaking the PROJECT put us off and discouraged. Moreover the way of we found out the refusal, by a simple email, even complimenting on hard work (two years), was another cold shower that frustrated our hopes to contribute to an improvement in water polo .
The only sports institutions that were really interested in our proposal were LEN and FIN to which we express our gratitude declaring ourselves available, if they want, to interact again.
About Federnuoto (Italian Swimming Federation). The news of dismissal against President Paolo Barelli is news that brings serenity to the entire movement. I'm sure that from now on President Barelli and the Federal Council will further dedicate to our beloved sport and certainly will find ways to help it grow qualitatively, making it attractive to media and commercial partners.
Obviously a key role must have the presidents of clubs (totally absent today when it came to contribute to the improvement of our sport) in providing food for thought for the construction of an adequate PROJECT, in order to the future, healthy, interaction with the leaders of the Italian Federation.
There are so many beautiful memories of this 2016. Definitely among them I count the double success of Setterosa and Settebello in Rio who got respectively Olympic silver and bronze medal.
But especially what makes me excited is absolutely the YELLOW BALL WATERPOLO INTERNATIONAL EVENT held in Naples last June. From 26 teams of the first edition (2015) we got 60 teams from Italy and abroad. Waterpolo People put together an excellent organization for the preparation and management of the tournament in all its aspects. The support of FINA, LEN and FIN is, therefore, an award for what we carried out in two programming years.
I take this opportunity to inform you that from mid-January we will open registrations for the third edition of the YELLOW BALL scheduled from 25 June to 1 July 2017.
Once again, though, I want especially to thank Gabriele Pomilio without whom all this, perhaps, would not have been possible.
Among other things in the coming year it will be the 10th anniversary of the format Haba Waba: a tournament that symbolizes the guiding beacon for all the important events of youth water polo located in Italy and in the world. I congratulate on this achievement, and I offer my best wishes to the Waterpolo Development Association, to its President and to all members for having reached this important milestone.
My wish for 2017 remains the same as always. I hope the water polo can return to the glories of the past and that can have a major result in terms of practitioners and visibility.
I hope that everyone involved in our world (Federations, clubs, athletes, referees) can calmly discuss a PROJECT to be implemented so as not to lag behind other sports in recent years have had a decisive change of gear.
Finally I want to thank all of you, friends of water polo, who constantly follow our web portal, born only two years ago, which soon reached incredible numbers (tens of millions of hits and thousands of daily visitors) pulling up alongside other sites specialized that give visibility to our sport, becoming a real reference point for information on Italian and world water polo.
That 2017 will reserve you many pleasant surprises.
