Il CN Marsiglia si prepara all'esordio assoluto allo Yellow Ball Waterpolo International Event. La società che nell'ultima stagione ha trionfato in LEN Eurocup (battendo lo Jadran in finalissima) ed ha messo in difficoltà in Supercoppa LEN i campioni d'Europa del Ferencvaros prenderà parte al torneo con la formazione Under 13.

A guidare i piccoli atleti francesi ci sarà lui: Yann Vernoux, bandiera del club transalpino. Lo storico capitano della prima squadra marsigliese è un vero e proprio allevatore di talenti giovanili. 

"Era da un pò di tempo che sentivo parlare dello Yellow Ball ed ho incontrato un pò di persone che me ne hanno parlato benissimo - spiega Vernoux sulla volontà di prendere parte alla manifestazione di Rossano Calabro -. Per noi è la prima volta a questo evento. Scegliere di parteciparvi non è stato difficile: ho mostrato il video dell'evento dello scorso anno ai miei atleti che si sono entusiasmati accettando immediatamente di parteciparvi".

Nel corso degli anni la manifestazione fondata da Gabriele Pomilio e Franco Porzio ha ospitato diverse squadre francesi ed anche quest'anno troverà ai nastri di partenza tre squadre provenienti dalla Francia: Marseille, appunto, Laval e Granville Waterpolo.

"Parteciperemo nella categoria Under 13 con una squadra mista composta, cioè, da maschi e femmine - precisa il tecnico -. Questi ragazzi hanno già preso parte a diverse manifestazioni internazionali e spero che il loro processo di crescita possa continuare anche disputando lo Yellow Ball".

Un'altra presenza di prestigio, dunque, per la kermesse calabrese che continua a crescere in termini di popolarità. Ed a proposito di popolarità, qual è lo status attuale della pallanuoto in Francia: "Resta la difficoltà nell'alzare il livello tecnico - spiega coach Yann Vernoux - La mentalità qui è rivolta più verso la pratica del tempo libero rispetto a quella di uno sport come la pallanuoto che richiede un certo numero di allenamenti settimanali. E' un vero peccato perchè abbiamo un grande potenziale e potremmo rappresentare un bacino importante nel mondo della pallanuoto".

 

 

The CN Marseille is preparing for the absolute debut at the Yellow Ball Waterpolo International Event. The club that triumphed in LEN Eurocup last season (beating Jadran in the final) and put the European champions of Ferencvaros in difficulty in the LEN Super Cup will take part in the tournament with the Under 13 team.
He will lead the little French athletes: Yann Vernoux, the flag of the transalpine club. The historic captain of the first team of Marseille is a real breeder of youth talents.
"I had been hearing about the Yellow Ball for some time and I met some people who talked to me about it very well - explains Vernoux on the willingness to take part in the Rossano Calabro event -. For us it is the first time at this event. Choosing to participate was not difficult: i showed the video of the event last year to my athletes who got excited and immediately accepted to participate".
Over the years the event founded by Gabriele Pomilio and Franco Porzio has hosted several French teams and also this year it will find three teams from France at the starting line: Marseille, in fact, Laval and Granville Waterpolo.
"We will participate in the Under 13 category with a mixed team made up of boys and girls - the coach specifies -. These guys have already taken part in several international events and I hope that their growth process can continue even by playing the Yellow Ball" .
Another prestigious presence, therefore, for the Calabrian event which continues to grow in terms of popularity. And speaking of popularity, what is the current status of water polo in France: "The difficulty remains in raising the technical level - explains coach Yann Vernoux - The mentality here is aimed more towards the practice of free time than that of a sport like water polo which requires a certain number of weekly trainings. It is a real shame because we have great potential and we have the possibility of a great water polo nation".
